WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I started crossfitting simply to get back in shape and fell in love with it. I really enjoy completing different workouts every day and not gonna lie, I like just showing up and having somebody tell me what to do. My main hobby is Cross Country ATV racing, which are 2 hour endurance trail races. I started this hobby in 2017 and CrossFit is a great way for me to stay in shape for these races. I completed a 10 hour cross country race in 2019 and I could not have done that without CrossFit and its awesome fitness programming keeping me in shape. I didn't do any additional training to prepare for this race outside of CrossFit.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
As I've gotten older, I've realized it's even more important than ever to stay active, stay moving, and lift heavy things. CrossFit keeps me energetic and fit so I can take on any physical challenge without having to prepare for it.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIFE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
Being fit and having higher energy levels helps in every aspect of life. I find I'm more productive at work, and even have a more positive attitude when I'm regularly attending CrossFit classes.
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My body does not enjoy being upside down. Handstand pushups for sure.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM?
A couple things come to mind. One, is the total fitness training at Live Active 563. By this I mean besides the physical benefits, I've learned how to eat healthy and how important food is in my overall fitness. Second is the people. I love it when people smile and say "Hi" when you walk in the door. You don't get that kind of reception anywhere else.
