TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR HOBBIES, GOALS AND LIFE ASPIRATIONS…
I am the person that 3 wonderful children call dad (Ages 5,3,1). My wife would laugh if you asked her about my hobbies... I have a lot of hobbies... Most of my hobbies began when I found something I didn't know how to do, and then worked very hard to become "good" at them. This is a big part of why I became hooked on CrossFit so quickly. My life aspiration is to be the best husband and father that I can be for my family. My goal is to bring magic into my family's life whenever possible. We've had a rough year and, I think most importantly, I would like to carry on my Dad's legacy.
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I was in my workshop working on an RC plane and my wife who was a couple months postpartum was in the next room doing a T-25 workout. I went and put on some workout clothes and joined her. If she was going to work that hard to look good for me, I figured that I could do the same for her. We became bored with the redundant workouts and then she found Jake at Live Active 563. Again I was in my workshop when I heard her yell down the hall that " I signed us up for CrossFit!". I thought, oh boy, here we go...
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
I love things that push me to become better. There are so many movements and workout variations that it never gets old. The best thing about Live Active 563 is the community. Chelsea and I love working out together and being a part of such an amazing group of people.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIVE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
Without a doubt, I am more fit than I have ever been in my life. I can play as hard as I want with my kids and never get run down. I enjoy life more. Chelsea and I's shared love of CrossFit has been a great addition to our marriage.
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Earlier this year I would have said overhead squats because they hurt and are very difficult. However, It's the movements that I don't enjoy that I need to work on the most. So honestly, I'll just buckle down and keep doing them until they aren't such a weakness...
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM?
I love the friendships we have begun building, and the effect it has had on my family's quality of life. I'm looking forward to the next 150 WODs surrounded by good people.
