Why did you start crossfitting or fitnessing?
I started doing CrossFit in January 2018 back when I was a freshman in high school. I saw the CrossFit Games in 2015 on Netflix and I was hooked. I was already doing swim for my school and on a private team, but once I started doing CrossFit, I automatically knew that I was going to be done with swim.
What do you love most about working out and why do you continue to do it?
What I love most about working out is the fact that I get to do it with a bunch of adults. I do weightlifting at Pleasant Valley, with a bunch of highschooler’s, so when I get to work out with adults it’s more of a challenge. I continue to go because I want to make myself a better person and have a better lifestyle. Plus, I get to do it with my dad which makes it even more fun.
How has it impacted your life beyond inside the gym?
When I tell my friends that I do CrossFit, they all think I’m crazy. It really has impacted my life outside of the gym. I feel stronger and when I wake up in the morning, I feel good. I feel ready to take on the day and any challenges that is thrown on me. There are days though where I feel so sore that I don’t wanna do anything, but I pushed through it anwhen I tell my friends that I do CrossFit, they all think I’m crazy. If you NEVER had to do one exercise movement again - what would it be?
That’s a bit of a tough question. If there was one movement that I would never have to do again, it would be wall balls.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies, goals and life aspirations...AND your favorite food!
I am a 17-year-old Junior that goes to Pleasant Valley high school. My plan after I graduate is to go and major in athletic training and sports medicine. I would also like to try and get my coaching certificate so I can go coach at whatever local gym is around (depending on what college I go to). Things I like to do outside of the gym is hang out with my friends and family, watch YouTube and Netflix, and play with my dogs. My goal is to hit my first muscle up. I don’t have a specific time as to where I want to hit it, but I want to hit it.
What do you love about being a part of our gym?
I love how everyone at the gym is so supportive of one another. While one person is finishing up the work out, everyone is just cheering them on and telling him to push harder and harder. I love when we do our weightlifting portions. I just love being a part of the CrossFit community and supporting other people.
