I’m a husband, Hawkeye, and future girl Dad. I love being active and pushing myself and CrossFit has been a great way to consistently challenge myself.
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I love playing sports and being active in general but I found my fitness and passion starting to plateau. I was still running quite a bit but was looking for something where I would be challenged but coached at the same time.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
It's a great escape from the rest of my day and a great release. It also allows me to continue my quest to find the best chocolate chip cookie and still fit into my clothes.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIVE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
It's been a competitive outlet for me that trickles into other parts of my life. Trying to be a better runner or improve my squat clean form has pushed me to be a better husband or employee outside of the gym.
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Overhead Squats. If I ever get into an everyday situation where I need to get in a full squat and then lift something over my head I'll just call Tyler Edwards.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM
I was slightly worried about some of the negative CrossFit stereotypes before I joined but those fears were quickly gone. LA563 is a great warm and welcoming community that's been incredibly supportive during a roller coaster of a personal and professional year and a half for me. My only regret is I didn't join sooner.
