I have been a QC native close to 10 years now. Mechanical engineer by the day. Just a normal guy who's way too obsessed about soccer, weight training and chocolate. Most of my hobbies revolve around staying active. Whether it be on a soccer field, on my bike or hiking in nature. Besides that, I enjoy hanging out with friends, reading, playing my PlayStation and yes COOKING!
My goal is to become a better version of myself. Keep growing physically, mentally and emotionally. Always keep striving to be a better son/brother/uncle/friend/human!
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I have worked out consistently on my own and tried to stay relatively fit, but eventually the workouts started getting redundant and stale. My stamina and conditioning weren't getting any better and I was constantly being outrun by everyone on the soccer field. I had always been intrigued by CrossFit for a long time, but was too skeptical and intimidated to actually join a CrossFit gym. It was right after another boring workout at the Y that I decided to stop by the Live Active gym on my way home. Next thing you know, I was completely hooked.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
Every workout has well and truly pushed me to my limits and beyond. And I feel like that's the only way to get better. To constantly push yourself out of your comfort zone. Not to mention the variety of movements in the workouts and the competitive aspect of it makes every session so much more challenging and fun . But by far the best thing about Live Active 563 is the amazing group of people that I have met. Made new friends and got new role models!
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIVE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
It only took a few weeks to notice the difference on the soccer pitch, but I was finally able to keep up with the pace of the game, give my 100% for the entirety of it and not get exhausted after only a couple of sprints. CrossFit has increased my physical and mental resilience and has also helped me enjoy life so much more!!
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Thrusters because they always set my lungs on fire. Special s/o to Double unders though. Just can't seem to get the technique nailed down!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM?
Everyone's been so kind, welcoming and supportive. I love the competitive aspect of the workouts but in spite of it people are always encouraging you and helping you improve your skills. I cherish all the connections and friendships that I have already made. It's truly been a pleasure to be surrounded by such great people! Bring on the next 150 WODs!!!!
