I enjoy my full life inclusive of family time and activities (primarily cheering on youth sports teams for baseball, basketball, cheer, tumbling and volleyball), work (Manger, Global Strategic Pricing at John Deere), capturing fun moments and scenery through photography, and lake time with my family.
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
Because Latrisha made me...ha! All joking aside, Latrisha Callahan did a great job teaching me about CrossFit a couple years back, and making it simple to on-board. I was also motivated by a milestone birthday, a desire to find that hidden athlete, and most importantly I wanted to be a fitness role model for my kids.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
I love feeling strong, both physically and mentally. I am addicted to how I feel once I have accomplished a challenging WOD or a Cycle Time ride. I have finally learned that when I dedicate time and energy to take care of myself then it is easier to take care others that are important to me.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIFE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
I have been most impressed with my willingness to try new things or push myself harder, and encourage my kids to do the same, even if it feels a little uncomfortable at first. Use your resources, lean on your coaches, give it a try and be open to feedback.
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Well it used to be wall balls, but after the challenge last month I learned they aren't all that bad.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM?
I love the community and encouragement that seems to be available right when you need it most. After all the other decisions and planning we all face each day, I appreciate that I can show up with the workout, equipment, coaching, support and music all set for me.
