I am a Mechanical Engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers by day... all other available time is dedicated to: Live Active 563 for wods and coaching & Richmond Elite Performance for Olympic lifting program. My life aspirations would be to eventually work for a non profit organization helping promote sober active living communities. I just want to help people - especially with fitness :)
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I have fallen in love with fitness twice in my life - the second time being the most significant because fitness/CrossFit literally saved my life. I just passed my 5 years of sobriety anniversary and don't plan on stopping.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
The thing I love the most about working out is that it has the ability to change more than one aspect of your life. It not only has the ability to make you healthier physically, but also menatally, socially and emotionally.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIFE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
Stated above: Fitness saved my life and will continue to do so. If I didn't make the change 5 years ago FOR ME and BY ME - I wouldn't be alive today. Simple as that.

Live Active Fitfam is highly unique because it is a TRUE Community. There are many other boxes out there that may put up a mission statement on their wall but Live Active actually promotes and cultivates a TRUE Community where everyone is welcome. And I love that aspect so much because I share the exact commonality for cultivating strong and welcoming communities. Very few places actually have achieved this. Kudos Live Active!
